There's more to celebrate than you think----5 things to be grateful for in your business right now

We’ve all had those days. The day the algorithm buries your post. The day you almost, but not quite, make the sale. The day your mood matches the weather, which isn’t especially good.

You may feel like there’s nothing to celebrate in your business, but that’s not really true. Here are 5 things you can jot down right now that will help you lift your head up a little higher and keep on working!

  1. There’s something about your business that shows the world what you value. Write those things down. This is (presumably) the good that you are communicating to the world. That’s something to celebrate!

  2. You’ve touched lives. Someone, somewhere has thanked you for what you do. Or maybe they don’t know how, but still you’ve eased their path, relieved pain, or brought them encouragement and beauty in some small way. I love the story Beth Griffith tells about her depression and feeling like she didn’t want to go on with life… how the smell of some shower gel pulled her back into living. You may not know exactly how you have touched lives, but you have, maybe in ways more profound than you realize. If you do know a few, write them down. Better yet, start collecting meaningful positive feedback in a folder that you can return to when you’re feeling ineffective.

  3. You’ve grown personally. Starting and growing a business stretches you in so many ways! What qualities and skills have you gained as a result of your business? Write them down.

  4. Your business successes and your business failures both give you feedback for your next steps. Write them down! Look at your list… what do you need to do more of? less of? do you need help? a change in messaging? strategy? You have been blessed with a wealth of information that you got from taking action in the past.

  5. You have so much opportunity. You have resources and options you may not have thought about lately. If you’re used to working online, maybe they are local. Or if you’re brick and mortar, maybe they are online. Maybe they are people or organizations, or just the freedom you have to use words in a different way, or paint, or whatever you work with——you can act in a fresh way. Take a minute to brainstorm all the opportunities open to you even if you don’t think you want to take them! Just realizing you have choices is a big comfort. You aren’t stuck. Then pick at least one thing you want to take action on today.

What is most meaningful to you from the lists above? What makes you just want to jump up and get to work again? Feel free to share with me… I’d love to hear! And remember if you’d like to turn those most meaningful things into a visual motivation to keep working in your business, schedule a call! … I’d love to create a beautiful representation of what you’ve accomplished. <3
